CTA Governance Rules
Purpose
Call-to-action elements guide the reader to the next step. Too many competing CTAs on a science page dilute scientific authority and turn a theoretical corpus into a product funnel.
Allowed CTA Types
| CTA Type | Route Target | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Next Step | Monograph / Review Dossier | One per page, above first H2 |
| Source Anchor | Bibliography / Source Graph | Below first H2 |
| Formalization / Review | Theorem Map / Formalization Gateway | Below first H2 |
| Monograph Depth | Scientific Review Dossier | Below first H2 |
| Glossary Support | Term / Symbol Definitions | Inline or below first H2 |
| Reader Pathway | Route Atlas | Secondary hero action on homepage |
Per-Page CTA Limit
| Page Type | Max Primary CTAs Above First H2 |
|---|---|
| Homepage | 2 |
| Primary science page (SFR, PHYSICA, etc.) | 1 |
| Monograph / dossier page | 2 |
| Resource page (bibliography, glossary) | 2 |
| Review / formalization page | 2 |
Forbidden CTA Patterns
The following CTAs are prohibited on primary science pages before the first H2:
- User dashboard or sign-in links
- Product or commercial contact funnels
- Generic "Explore Everything" buttons
- Repeated video/media CTA blocks
- Multiple buttons for the same route target
- External service CTAs (e.g., Zenodo submission) above the scientific thesis
Governing Phrase
Each science page makes one argument. It must be read before the reader is asked to act.
